This Privacy Policy applies to the Arcane Scroll website, application, and related services. By using Arcane Scroll, you acknowledge the practices described below.

2. Information we collect

Account information

We collect information you provide when creating or managing an account, such as your email address, username, display name, authentication credentials in protected form, and account preferences.

Content and files

We store content you create or upload to provide the service, such as worlds, campaigns, notes, quests, maps, images, characters, creatures, items, and other campaign-management data.

Subscription information

We store subscription metadata needed to manage access, such as your plan, billing period, subscription status, renewal date, provider references, and usage limits. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.

Usage and technical information

We may collect information required to operate and secure the service, such as feature usage, AI quota usage, storage consumption, session information, request metadata, browser or device information, IP address, diagnostic logs, and error reports.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Arcane Scroll;
• create accounts, authenticate users, and prevent abuse;
• store and display the content you choose to manage through the service;
• enforce plan limits and administer subscriptions, cancellations, and eligible refunds;
• provide customer support and send service-related communications;
• comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the rights of others; and
• provide optional AI-assisted features when you request them.

4. AI-assisted features

When you invoke an AI-assisted feature, the information needed to fulfill that request may be transmitted to and processed by third-party AI providers. Only use these features with information you are authorized to submit. Avoid including unnecessary personal, confidential, or sensitive information in prompts.

5. How we share information

We may share information only as reasonably necessary with:

• service providers that support hosting, storage, email delivery, security, analytics, and similar operations;
• Lemon Squeezy for checkout, subscription administration, tax handling, receipts, refunds, and chargebacks;
• AI providers when you request an AI-assisted feature;
• professional advisers where reasonably necessary; and
• authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent harm, fraud, or abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Cookies and sessions

We use cookies or similar storage mechanisms where needed to authenticate users, maintain sessions, remember preferences, and protect the service. You can configure your browser to limit cookies, but essential service functionality may stop working.

7. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and enforce agreements. Retention periods depend on the type of information and the reason it is processed. Backups and logs may persist for a limited period after deletion.

Arcane Scroll is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address the issue.
