Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account, accessing Arcane Scroll, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If you use Arcane Scroll on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. The service

Arcane Scroll provides tools for tabletop role-playing game campaign management, including tools for worlds, campaigns, quests, maps, characters, creatures, items, notes, player-facing views, storage, and optional AI-assisted features. Features, limits, integrations, and availability may vary by plan and may change over time.

The service is provided for lawful personal or professional campaign-management use. It is not an official product of Wizards of the Coast or any tabletop game publisher.

3. Accounts and security

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials, and all activity performed through your account. Notify us promptly at hello@arcanescroll.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit, upload, or create through Arcane Scroll. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, display, and back up that content only as needed to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service and to provide features you request.

You are responsible for your content and for ensuring that you have the rights required to use it. Do not upload unlawful content or material that infringes intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

• use Arcane Scroll for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity;
• attempt to bypass plan limits, access controls, security measures, or usage quotas;
• interfere with the service or probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without written authorization;
• introduce malware or use automated activity that unreasonably burdens the service;
• resell access to the service unless we have agreed to it in writing; or
• use the service or AI features to violate applicable law or third-party rights.

6. AI-assisted features

Some plans include optional AI-assisted tools. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive, or unsuitable for your intended use. You are responsible for reviewing output before relying on, publishing, or sharing it. Availability and monthly quotas depend on your plan.

When you request an AI feature, relevant input may be processed by third-party AI providers as described in our Privacy Policy. Do not submit confidential, personal, or sensitive information that is not necessary for your request.

7. Paid subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are recurring monthly or yearly subscriptions. Prices and plan details are shown before purchase. Taxes and the final amount charged may depend on your location and checkout details. Lemon Squeezy acts as the merchant of record for purchases processed through its checkout and handles payment processing, applicable taxes, receipts, refunds, and chargebacks within its role.

Unless cancelled, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. If a renewal payment fails, access and retry behavior may depend on the payment provider's subscription lifecycle and our account status rules.

Upgrades

Upgrades take effect immediately. The payment provider calculates the prorated charge for the remaining portion of the current billing period. Any estimate shown by Arcane Scroll before confirmation is approximate; the provider's final calculation, including applicable taxes, discounts, credits, and rounding, controls.

Downgrades and cancellation

Downgrades between paid plans are scheduled for the next renewal date. Cancelling a paid subscription, including switching to the free plan, stops future renewals while preserving paid access until the end of the current billing period. You may cancel a pending change before it becomes effective where that option is available in your account.

8. Refunds

Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law or any refund or chargeback action that Lemon Squeezy may take in its role as merchant of record.

9. Third-party services

Arcane Scroll may rely on third-party services, including hosting, storage, email, payment, and AI providers. Their services may be subject to separate terms and may experience changes or interruptions outside our control.

10. Service changes, suspension, and termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, impose reasonable usage restrictions, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create security risks, expose us or others to liability, or misuse the service. We may also take action where required by law or by an essential third-party provider.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arcane Scroll is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not guarantee that stored content will never be lost, so you should keep appropriate backups of important material.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Calipso Entertainment and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to Arcane Scroll.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of USD 100 or the amount you paid for Arcane Scroll during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice.
